Sick Sinus Syndrome and Taky Bratty Syndrome
The term sick sinus syndrome and tacky bratty syndrome are used interchangeably. Sick sinus syndrome is not a very useful term, because it does tell you something about the sinus node, but it doesn't tell you anything about the AV node. The typical scenario is a person with intermittent atrial fibrillation when they're in a fib,. They often have a rapid ventricular response, which is what leads to the problem as I'll come to in a minute.
