John Knox: The Father of Scottish Presbyterianism
Knox was called the father of Scottish Presbyterianism, but in many ways he was pioneering that Presbyterian effort. He didn't get everything settled the way he had hoped, but thankfully through his labors, which the Lord blessed, he was able to pave the way for his later successors like Andrew Melville and Robert Bruce. So therefore, the truth I speak, volume one by McCloud, that'll give a great introduction. If they really want to get into the nitty gritty, it's worth picking up a copy of the first and second books of discipline.
