Are Assault Weapons a Good Weapon for Self Defense?

I think a band of assault weapons would be unconstitutional, because i think assault weapons are clearly a type of rifle that is in common use for self defense. I not exclusively, but like why mass shootings occur and what we could do to try and regulate those cads. And one thing that really frustrates me is that people who are gun controlled or advocate more strict gun regulations often complain that gunrights people are obsessed with guns.
