The rise of a facebook, et ceterait occurred on my watch. The stuff was invented well past when i was in college. Because we didn't collectively use it, i suspect we didn't fully understand how to do it. There's not evidence that it materially changed the come but it was our way of doing it. For example, to day we have quite a powerful social network imbedded inside a view tube. But i think it would be fair to say that the rise of a Facebook and other similar sites occurred on my time.
The son of an economist, Eric Schmidt eschewed his father’s profession, first studying architecture before settling on computer science and eventually earning a PhD. Now one of the most influential technology executives in the world, he still however credits his interest in network economies and platforms for a large part of his success.
