The Dollar and the Inflation Problem
The dollar has been relatively weak back in comparison to other countries. But I think this is much more to do with expectations of what it's going to happen to interest rates rather than anything to do with the price of oil. We're seeing a lot of central banks around the world trying to tackle the inflation issue by raising interest rates, making it more expensive to borrow money and expand businesses. The trouble with this strategy though is that a lot of the current inflation in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia is supply driven inflation.
