The Loss of a Composer
To pay his rent, larson took a job at a greasy spoon in soho called the moon dance diner. He discovered that if he worked long hours friday through saturday, he could make enough tips to take monday through thursday off. On those days, he would sit at his tiny table in his tiny window of his tiny apartment and write for eight hours straight, composing a musical. It was at three a m alone, singing acapella and envisioning his name in a play bill, that he was happiest.
