Pianist says Creed Taylor was a "visionary" who wanted his label to have a style, sound and look. He didn't go out in playing an instrument or conducting or arranging. But he did have some training that I heard about only by reputation. It provided a steadier income in New York and I was starting to get a range of jobs.
