The latest era in modernity would be the post-modernist era. Modernity is built upon a few pillars, which I've kind of been talking about for the last few minutes. These are the kinds of things that modernity is built on and post-modernism hates all of them. The power of science ultimately comes from the fact that it says that humans are not ultimate standard for knowledge.
