What Is Synthetic Control Method?
So-called synthetic control method is a type of controlled experiment. Researchers randomly give one drug to some people and the other group gets a placebo. They do this so they can't be sure whether participants are actually getting the real drug or the placebo, you know, like if it's a pill, they all get identical looking pills. This episode includes an interview with Dr. McPovey about his research on high blood pressure.
