Concurrent and Parallel Haskell in GHC
Concurrent Haskell was also a PhD thesis. Cbjorn Finn, I think, worked on concurrent Haskell in history. And there was an implementation in GHC of that. But it didn't really become widely used until we did a rewrite of the runtime system. We threw away lots of old ideas that hadn't really panned out in practice and ended up being quite complicated.
