Introduction
Anil Seth is a Professor of Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience at the University of Sussex. His TED Talk, under the title, Your Brain Hallucinates Your Conscious Reality, is one of the most popular science lectures in the history of that series. It's a process that allows grey goo locked inside your skull to interpret the information from the outside world and organise it into an experience that you call yourself. A lot of the political implications of consciousness science are found in questions of intelligence, sentience, whether those things confer rights, and whether machines might one day have them.
