The history of forestry has such a huge amount to answer for over its history. The forest service was one of the most respected agencies ever created in the united states government. Forestry had been very much a part of american agriculture, not just in terms of native use, but also in terms of white use. And you cauld almost make the argument that we'v been better off without it.
