X-Rays Aren't Helpful for Osteomyelitis
A commonly used tool to distinguish neck-pass from cellulitis is the laboratory risk indicator for necrotizing fasciitis, also called the levronic score. Its sensitivity and specificity for neck-passion is 90-95%. That's going to be a score of greater than 6. But 10% of all patients with neck- passion still had it with a levronic score; this is a normal infection rate.
