Human rights was probably the most prominent human rights issue that was focused on around the Russia World Cup. Even back in 2008, the Beijing Olympics, human rights was a massive international focus. Tony Blair's point that the concentration on this risks obscuring other parts of a relationship between the United Kingdom and Western states is a fair one to explore.
