In industrial society, our own autonomy and our goal-seeking is essentially subverted because we have a society that provides most of what we need for us. This produces this sense of distrust and alienation. That is what the anarcho-primitivist is talking about. And in fact, even Ted Kaczynski did to his manifesto, he says, probably about 500 to 1,000 people make real choices in this society. So if we can't make real choices, that's the problem. But I do think it like is lent some plausibility by the sort of like mechanistic argument about Evo, psych or whatever.
