In all forms of religion or spirituality, there is a temptation that we all face to do the right things for all sorts of kind of ulterior motivations. For example, I hate to use myself as an example, but I'm up here teaching the way of Jesus. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I think it's a great thing. But you don't know my motivation. You can guess at it, depending on how cynical you are. It doesn't actually have insight past my epidermis into my heart posture and motivation. Or I could be up here because this is my job. We need the right heart posture or motivation behind it.
