I think if you have a colines, you can do a really good job of doing theology within orthodoxy. But i don't think it's a necessary condition. Anyone who reads a lot of the tradition and his philosophically attuned is gng to be better placed than somebody who has the one favorite interlocutor. I mean, dunscotis is massively under appreciated in his account of the trinity,. In terms of secondary ture um, i'm tempted to say, though i won't assert, that scotus has the most refined account of trinity in the history of the tradition.
