The Churny Slope Argument for Smoking Bans in Public Spaces

Tobacco promoters vigorously opposed the Smoke Free Air Act, which was passed in 2002. Many of them argued that tourists would stop coming to New York City. Did any of these slippery slope arguments have merit? That's hard to answer definitively, but there isn't much evidence they did.
