What's the Difference Between Growth and Layoffs?

Felix: The economy churns jobs and these numbers aren't small. We're still in a very robust labor market. I think what strikes me, though, that might make this different is it is not just layoffs. It is layoffs for a set of people where I think people thought it couldn't happen to them. To have that reversed seems particularly difficult.
