Ikea has a massive solar array and have a deal with the neighboring Ikea to buy supplemental energy from them. So they could satisfy 100% of their energy needs from solar, but wanted to keep the energy DC as long as possible. "Efficiency is in my opinion kind of a red herring. It's all about costs and designing a system," he says.
