When was the last time Vermont experienced something like this? The last thing that comes to mind is Tropical Storm Irene. This supposed 100 year scenario has now happened twice in, you know, a span of 11, 12 years. People still trying to wrap their heads around it.

Vermont just got slammed with flash floods, road closures, and evacuations. Harvard’s Juliette Kayyem says the storm reveals how unprepared the US is for the present moment, when natural disasters are more frequent and more intense than ever before.
