Reason Is Fun

CHAPTER

The Importance of Explanation

Everything is connected. It affects you later so for example when you're looking at the sun you were seeing it as it was eight minutes ago. Things that are far away affect things that are less far away which then affect you and so everything is connected. Ah, so you are saying that when you are trying to explain something you are only trying to explain a specific small piece? But if you want to properly translate the inexplicit ideas which would contain everything then all of stuff still affects you even if it was not at the time. Yeah, but why does that matter? Because if it only affects you after the thing you're trying to explain then it can't be involved in the explanation.
