How to Write a Book About Napoleon
I want to finish by asking you about your process as a writer. How do you decide what you're going to write about next? And how long does it take once you've set off on the journey? Well, there are three questions there and I'm going to take you on the Saudre if that's okay. The book can sometimes, my Napoleon book took six years. I visited 53 of Napoleon's 60 battlefields in 16 countries. So, all in all, that can take a long time. My biography of Lord Salisbury also took 6 years.
