How to Start a Bone Collection?

i recently moved in with two guys i don't know very well. The boys have a pretty extensive collection of dead things, more like animal bones and dried out insects. I think this is actually really cool, and have always wanted to start a bone collection. This took a turn, but never knew where to start.
