The Evolution of Supergines
Tanya Slota is an evolutionary geneticist at Stockholm University. She studies supergines in plants. Figuring out the origin of a supergine is one of the most challenging questions, she says. Any beneficial mutations arising within the inversion could then promote its spread as asupergine.
