In his opinion, the movie is this really messy blend of feels like a few distinct influences that those sequences in particular feel very terrgillium to me. And then there's obviously a massive terence malic influence on this movie. The idea like, dad ruined everything, and i'm desperately reaching for dad, and someone took dad away from me was just the most facile, psycho bable, imaginable.
