The minimum wage was created by f d r to provide a worker, in those days, more than a bare subsistence level of financial support. But now, in many cities, it can't even pay for a one bedroom apartment. Add to that the fact that student loan debt has sky rocketed in the last few decades. Even with a full time job, they might not be able to afford rent in the city or town in which they grew up. So maybe they'll live at home a while longer, or get a place with a group of their peers. Point here is, adulting isn't about where you live. It's about behaving as an adult no matter whereyou live.
