Was Descartes a Paragon of a Solitary Life?
Descarte himself was a bit of a solitary he lived an awful lot of his life sort of concealing himself, actually, from other people. He's not been seen as a paragon or a paradime of a solitary life in the way that some of the people john's been talking about were. It was a big intellectual problem, as basically what we call reconciling the the normal world view with the scientific world viewi just se one thing on nole is going to say. Because of the title meditations already tames us back into ancient titles. And i don't just nlly mean a religious tradition, but of this idea that philosophy is actually a form of practice.
