The shackling to domestic drudgery starts to emerge where you're spending more and more of your time looking after the children, keeping the dwelling clean. With this comes something else. If you look at the ancient Greeks, for example, terrible oppression of women. Women were not allowed to be seen in public. Once the Greeks transitioned from the previous matrilineal system to a patriarchal system, there was a huge fall of woman in the sense of her position changed radically.
