How to Use Target Language in the Classroom
Cognitively, it is very cognitively manding to listen to something in the target language with intent to learn for a whole forty five, 50 minutes. So those little breaks of silence and processing time are absolutely key. A country without a language is a country without a soul. Now they'll do something with it. And maybe it's a bit of trans languaging, writing some things down, connections to your own culture, or maybe it's speaking to the person beside you with some scaffolds in the taget language.
