The Letters to Dick Winter by Ronald Spears
In the book and in the TV series, Ronnie Spears is this kind of absolute ice man. In the letters, he comes across as a much more vulnerable person. He just can't put himself back into that 24-year-old so that he was in 1944. The character in the show beautifully played by Matthew Shell is just a brilliant portrait.
