What Happened Before the Big Bang?

The current thinking is that the universe started about 14 billion years ago. We don't know at all about what happened before the big bang, which means that the universe could have gone on for a very long time into the past. The second law of thermo dynamics tells you that antropy is always increasing and so it's kind of weird to not be at maximum entropy right? I sort of strange and very unlikely, almost vanishing unlikely, that we're in a moment that's not at maximum entropy, right?
