Twitch's Sexual Harassment Policy
About 50 streamers, most of them being women, came forward in June 2020 with allegations about the streamers that had abused them. While harrowing and upsetting, this also isn't entirely surprising in a male-dominated industry rife with loopholes for abusers who warm their way through. The thing is, from what I've gathered in my research, it doesn't seem like people were angry at Twitch for this issue existing. Abusers will be abusers, and I can't fault Twitch alone for that. Instead, where Twitch deserves the criticism is in their enabling and in their reaction to discovering this abuse. They've been warned about sexist behavior before, and they just didn't care.
