The Importance of a Consequentialist's Decision
The problem with basing the moral worth of our actions only on the consequences that the actions produce is that you can't always know what the consequences of your actions are going to be. Even if you're really good at predicting the outcome pretty well in the short term, it's very difficult to understand long-term repercussions decades later. "If we could go back time and kill hitler, wait a second. We don't have a crystal ball," he says.
