Trump Opposes the Justice Department's Motion to Move the Trial Date From August 15th, 2023

The Southern District of Florida is a rocket-tocket. That means that trials have to start within 70 days of the indictment, unless there's a good reason to postpone them or the defendant waves their rights under the Speedy Trial Act. Trump has now opposed the Justice Department's motion to move the trial date from August 15. The DOJ would like the trial to begin in the year 2023, and not 2024, for pretty obvious reasons. And also for obvious reasons, Donald Trump would like not that.
