The real danger is neuroplasticity, which is like a fancy way of saying neurons that fire together. Cal Newport says in his book The Shallows, he gets deep into the neurology of this as well. Your brain rewires itself when it's not just one problem happening now but two or three problems at once. So there's plasticity to your brain and you can't change it without changing yourself.
