Is the King's Problem the Church's Problem?
As Supreme Governor, he has no responsibility for the policies or doctrine of the Church of England. The King floats above that and indeed he's always said he's not simply narrowly Anglican or even narrowly Christian. But here's a thought: Why exclude something that reflects the experience of a growing number of families? Chris Bryant again. What if a senior member of the royal family wanted to marry a same-sex partner in a Church? That's the moment when the monarchy might come into this terribly complicated space.
