I do think that inside modern capitalism, intellectual property certainly can be seen as effective in incentivising research and innovation. I mean, stunningly, even here, the coved vacine seem to have needed the patent incentive in order to get large pharmocutical companies to to ind of make the investment. And it is true that there's been a lot of studies out there who have shown there are many other financial tools, or economic tools that can be used to incentivize innovation That don't require the grant of this right.
