John Rawls famously says, there is no metaphysics and it's all political. But I think in thinking about politics in that way, there is a metaphysical foundation in a way. And there is a certain way of thinking about the human being, the person, and social relations and morality ultimately. If you're committed to the ethical project of figuring out how should we relate to each other, not just as moral individuals, but also as political beings who have to share a certain structure of cooperation," he said.
