Simon Tisdall: I've been known to start with the harsh reality of today. Given what I focus on generally, this is typically a confusing graph or an overwhelming slide. The tension lies between that ugly but highly relatable reality of the subpar graph and the beautiful and inspiring picture of what could be. In other words, tension is the skill, knowledge or execution gap between where my audience are and where they'd like to be.
