The Rise and Fall of the Elizabethan Martyrs
English Catholic martyrologist Richard Vrestagan printed an eyewitness account of Campion's death, and this cause such a furore that he was forced to flee England. This was one of the earliest printed accounts. The other occurred in a text by Robert Parsons called de Presicutes the O'Nay. And a woodcut of campion's torture on the rack featured in Vrestagan's first broadsheet - Le Carnet-Typus (1582 at reigns)
