Warhol democratized art for everyone and anyone, not just the privileged few. He wanted people to look at very normal universal experiences and think again. But then when we hear these details about the factory and the silver room, they do feel like these very sort of exclusive environments that he was... Are you calling them a bit of a champagne socialist in a way? I think he was. Everyone there is the people that don't see it and they're the excluded people. Like a groucho club for people that have been barred from the groucho club.
