The History of Herpes

Most people just don't care enough about herpes to bother to treat it and certainly not to pay for a brand new antiviral medication. The first big deal drug to treat herpes was released in the 70s by Burroughs Welcome Company, which I think is now Glaxo Smith Klein. They were emphasizing the importance of treating genital herpes specifically. So they started using terminology like incurable. You're going to get herpes having sex and it's never going to be cured.
