The Eonomy of the Sea

In the middle ages, 50% or more of all land in britain belonged to the commons. It was then subject to a series of enclosure movements where elites were given land. To day, only about five % of all land is part of the commons. The big event came after the second world war when  the truman proclamation unilaterally annexed 200 nautical miles from the united states coasts and declared that it was part of us. This was converting the commons into state property which is a step towards privatiation.
