Are We Ready to Let AI Take Over the Judiciary?
In evolutionary terms we have developed a cognitive apparatus that is so noisy. What are the evolutionary advantages of being so crazily random? There is variability in every biological phenomenon. And this variability in nature is actually quite useful because it's the engine of evolution and selection. But for many applications that we care about, we're going to want humans to be in control. So our key message here is to help humans to be less noisy in the way they make decisions.
