CHAPTER

The Origins of Homo Sapiens in South Africa

The biggest story in paleo anthropology over the last decade revolves around a deep cave in south africa. More than one thousand 550 pieces of bone belonging to at least 15 distinct individuals were recovered, an absolute treasure trove of finds. These archaic humans obviously belonged to a brand new species, one never before encountered in the fossil record. Their appearance was extremely archaic, small bodied, small brained,. seemingly better suited to a life spent in the trees than running long distances on the ground.
