The job number one is really for you and the other parent to start to communicate better so that it happens less. If the child's having minimal contact then again giving them an opportunity to talk about that other parent could grieve the lack of contact with the other parent. Maybe to draw pictures or have a memory box or something where they that has things that remind them of the other parent, she says.
