The New North and the Arctic

As the arctic melts new shipping routes open up and new resources become available this will likely intensify alongside global heating. Just as previous opening ups of new frontiers engendered all the horrors of colonial and imperial capitalism so too will the new frontiers of the thawing far north harbor such horrors. In chapter seven our author turns their gaze towards cities and global development in the case of mega cities i.e. urban areas like New York, Chicago or Los Angeles.
