The Power of Stories
I was thinking actually about some work a colleague of mine did Melissa Carney showing the impact of an MTV show, 16 and pregnant on teenage pregnancy rates. We do not like stories when the villain gets away with it - we want them to pay for what they've done. And so I worry that there are other ways of telling stories. For instance, you can just do without villains altogether. It's very easy. Just get rid of them because shit does just happen sometimes. But these kind of stories told well can be told and no one is evil in this story. What's more evil than trying to destroy America? Both sides think their side is out to destroy America?'
