Is There an Ethical Obligation to Refer a Therapist?
Had you indicated to her that you weren't interested in working with any other therapist? No, no. But obviously if she referred me out, yeah, then I would have. As far as you knew, you could be working with her at any time based on her schedule opening up. It's weird. She probably knows she's not going to keep working with you, but she's not giving you the freedom to know that so that you can make an informed decision about what to do for yourself. That doesn't feel good.
